UNDP, UNESCWA and the IsDB, in partnership with IPU, will convene the Second Regional Forum for Arab Parliamentarians on the 2030 Agenda on 24/25 October 2018 [tbc]. The Forum aims at further strengthening the regional parliamentary network for the 2030 Agenda through providing a multi-stakeholder platform for dialogue on achieving the SDGs in the Arab region and how parliaments can effectively engageUNDP, UNESCWA and the IsDB, in partnership with IPU, will convene the Second Regional Forum for Arab Parliamentarians on the 2030 Agenda on 24/25 October 2018 [tbc]. The Forum aims at further strengthening the regional parliamentary network for the 2030 Agenda through providing a multi-stakeholder platform for dialogue on achieving the SDGs in the Arab region and how parliaments can effectively engage.
The Forum targets Parliamentarians from the majority of Arab countries, namely Algeria, Bahrain, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauretania, Morocco, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, the UAE, and Yemen, including representatives from upper and lower houses, with a view of ensuring representation of female and male MPs where possible and from across the political spectrum.
Participants also will include experts from regional and international organizations, as well as Members of Parliaments from outside the Arab Region to share their experiences.
