Overview
Amman - Jordan
UNDP RBAS is conducting experts workshop to bring together practitioners and UNDP representatives to discuss the framework for Monitoring and Evaluation of PVE projects in the Arab States.
PVE is high on the global agenda. UNDP, along with other parts of the UN System, has been working to develop a deeper understanding of violent extremism, its drivers, and consequences. However, there remains a need for a framework and tools to measure impact. The necessity for new M&E tools and frameworks was also identified by UNDP Country Offices that implement PVE projects. To develop these tools and create a draft methodology, UNDP has partnered with International Alert.
As part of this project Alert has conducted a global review into monitoring and evaluation of PVE projects and held consultations with UNDP Country Offices into their existing approaches to the monitoring of PVE projects. Based on these findings, a draft monitoring framework and tools are in development. This workshop is a critical part of this process. It will enable the feedback of experts and UNDP staff during the development of the draft methodology to ensure it is effective and responsive to the needs of Country Offices as well as best international standards, and reflects priority issues such as gender dimensions.
