The role of Journalists and Media Networks in Promoting Social CohesionIn recognition of the importance of the role that journalists and media networks can play in developing stronger bonds between all members of the community, UNDP is in the process of developing a handbook to guide journalists in the Arab states region on how to report on various issues, especially those perceived as socially and culturally sensitive in a manner that might contribute to enhancing social cohesion across the region. The handbook will provide an overview of the Arab media landscape, examining the structural conditions that underpin the performance of the media as well as exploring the positive role that media outlets and journalism can play within that environment.
