Overview
Beirut - Lebanon
The workshop is organized at a historic juncture in Lebanon where the newly elected President of the Republic and the newly formed Council of Ministers have formally prioritized the fight against corruption. UNDP has been a main partner of past efforts in this regard. Cooperation with various stakeholders succeeded in developing national capacities and producing key reform proposals, which were mostly legislative in nature, but did not materialize in terms of concrete results on the ground. The current political situation opens new horizons. Hosted at the Parliament, the workshop shall bring together key political actors, senior officials and leading civil society activists to take stock of past efforts and discuss the way forward, with a view to informing the anti-corruption agenda of the new government.
