Overview
Dubai - United Arab Emirates
The Arab Knowledge Project will hold its second core team meeting in Dubai on April 7, 8 and 9 to discuss the work plan of the second phase of its Arab Knowledge Index. As part of its new phase, the AKP will be analysing the results and outputs of the Arab Knowledge Index, and will also be developing a refined second Arab Knowledge Index, a summary measure that best reflects knowledge accumulation, production and consumption from a development perspective, taking into consideration the specific socio-cultural context, needs and challenges of the Arab region. The Arab Knowledge Index will be focusing on pre-university education, higher educational, technical vocational education and training, Research & Development and Innovation, Information and Communications Technology, and the economy).

Also, as the Arab region is witnessing a big interest on reading providing that it is a cornerstone to culture and education, and as many strategies and initiatives were put to encourage reading, the Arab Knowledge Project will consecrate a part of its work in 2016 to measure Reading in the Arab region through a separate study that would be consisting of a conceptual methodology in addition to indicators and data. The Index would help measure the effect of these initiatives towards achieving higher rates of reading.

Please consult with the UAE Embassy in your country to avoid any delays.

The voltage in UAE is 220-240 Volts. The majority outlets accept one type of plug with three rectangular British style pins. If a laptop does not have the right plug, you will also need to bring a plug adapter.
